Spring Honeybee Project

EVERY SPRING the people of Salem Lutheran Church collect money for the ELCA’s “God’s Global Barnyard” project to help feed the people of the world. To date, we have raised money through the “Buck-a-Chick” program, we have purchased goats and even a cow for people in the U.S. and Third World Countries. This spring we are raising money for the “Honeybee” project and there is a collection site in the Salem narthex. Honeybees have a growing importance as the shrinking bee population is increasing. Beeswax can be transformed into hand-crafted soap, candles, honey, and other products that help needy families create small, sustainable businesses. Having bees on a family farm helps with pollinating plants and boosting crop growth. We invite you to
help us raise money for this worthy endeavor!
